Ready to celebrate the Italian Liberation Day 2021 on April 25?
The Liberation Day 2021 will mark the 76th anniversary of the liberation of Italy from the nazi-fascism: on the 25th April 1945, the partisans’fight and a huge popular insurrection made it possible, ending 20 years of fascism and a terrible war which had lasted 5 years.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, celebrations will take into consideration all the restrictions in place throughout Italy, therefore official ceremonies will take place in respect of the safety measures.
The good news is that it will be possible to join many interesting online events in live streaming: a great chance to listen more about this important Italian festivity!
Let’s see some celebrations!
In Bologna celebrations take place from the 21st to the 25th April: on the first day, the Mayor put a garland on the gravestone of the Italian Army groups who supported the Allies in order to free Italy. The ceremony is on the City Hall’s Facebook page.
On top of that, on the 25th April it will be possible to do a virtual tour of the installation “Ciò che resiste“, dedicated to the Resistance, on the Youtube channel of the City Hall.
Torino also offers a great choice of events to commemorate the Liberation, thanks to the collaboration between more than 20 institutions and the City of Torino: meetings, live streaming, podcasts, shows and much more!
Events are already taking place and will continue until May, so have a look at the programme!
In Salerno, the schedule will be quite busy as well: ANPI (National Association Italian Partisans) planned some online sessions and a short movie about the Resistance. If you are interested, follow this link!
