The Italian Peperoni Ripieni are a lovely dish to make at home!

If you have tried Peperoni Ripieni (stuffed peppers) in Italy you might have noticed that there are different versions of this traditional recipe.

This is not surprising: almost every Italian recipe has many possible variations that depend on the area or even on the family’s tradition.

The good thing is that this is a versatile recipe and can be adapted for vegetarians as well.

But now, let’s start with the ingredients!

4 peperoni grandi –> 4 big peppers

400 g di carne macinata mista –> 400 g of mixed minced meat

2 uova –> 2 eggs

200 g di scamorza –> 200 g of scamorza cheese

4 cucchiai di parmigiano –> 4 spoons of parmigiano

basilico –> basil

olio extravergine di oliva –> extra virgin olive oil

sale –> salt

Ready to prepare this dish!

Wash the peppers thoroughly and clean them taking out the cap.

Put some oil in a baking pan and put them in.

Put the minced meat in a bowl and mix it with eggs, soaked stale bread, scamorza cheese, parmesan and salt.

Add some salt to the peppers and stuff them with the delicious filling.

Bake in the oven at 180° for around 30 minutes.

Before serving make them rest for 10 minutes and add some fresh basil on top.

Your lovely Italian dish is ready!
