Have you ever been to Verona Opera Festival?

For all the opera lovers, Verona Opera Festival is a real landmark in Italy.

It takes places in the most amazing location on Earth: the Arena in Verona.

This beautiful Roman amphitheatre hosts this magic festival every year in summer.

The first concert in the Arena took place in 1913: Aida, written by Giuseppe Verdi, marked the centenary of Verdi’s birth.

For the first time, this show was characterized by tridimensional elements instead of the classic painted scenes used in traditional theatres.

This change made the festival even more popular: people fought to get tickets for the premiere!

As a result, the Arena was incredibly crowded!

Since then, the Opera Festival has been one of the most important opera events in Italy.

People from all around the world plan their trip to Verona only to enjoy such a fantastic experience.

This year the festival will start on the 21st June and finish on the 7th September.

How is the programme like in 2019?

This summer, the programme is really great and includes different events.

For example, if you like opera, you can choose among La Traviata, Aida, Il Trovatore, Carmen and Tosca.

However, the festival also offers a ballet show, Roberto Bolle and Friends.

And in August there will be even two incredible concerts, Plácido Domingo 50 Arena Anniversary Night and Carmina Burana.

And remember that if you are under 30 or over 65, you can get great discounts.
